Teramo the capital city of the Province is situated inland from the coast and is reached very quickly by good motorway connections either from the coast road the A14 or the Roma motorway the A24.

From the Guilianova exit of the A14 the Teramo Mare superstrada takes you to the city in just ten minutes past the new shopping centre which has won prizes for its community participation, the state of the art football stadium which also holds music events and on into the historic centre of this pretty capital city.

Teramo offers something for all, evening strolls along its vehicle free centre, where evenings are a pleasure to slowly wander along and participate in that Italian tradition of aperitifs and animated discussions.

Teramo offers the best in schools in the province and the widest variety of higher education up to and including its University faculties. The state of the art hospital is one of the best in the region of Abruzzo. It has  a pretty non descript football team but does have one of the best basketball teams in Italy where the sport is most probably second in popularity after football and the stadium is situated just of the Ascoli Piceno road.

There is the city centre theatre and two cinema complex’s, and a new theatre community area is being planned where the old football stadium is located. Summer time sees many festivals and fairs, and the city hosts the youth handball world cup every summer. A popular event which sees participants from all over the globe arrive for two weeks of sport and celebration.

From Rome Teramo is just a drive of 150 km or so. Connected by express coaches which run every hour or so and make city to city travel both quick and convenient. From Roma Ciampino Airport for example the journey time by car is just about 75 minutes. Pescara Airport is 45 minutes and Ancona  Airport is around 75 minutes. Trains run to Pescara direct and destinations north south such as Bologna or Bari are easily accessible via the coastal rail links.

The beauty of Teramo is that it still remains a city with a friendly local atmosphere whilst offering all the benefits of a Provincial Capital city. Yet situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty you can be completely immersed in the nature of the National Park of the Gran Sasso and Monti della larga in just ten minutes . Many of the views from the street have the Gran Sasso as a backdrop and yet with the new Teramo Mare road the coast is just a short drive. Head west and the ski fields are just 30 minutes by car.

Our offices are situated on the edge of this historic city and allows us to offer properties for sale located close to the city or within, coastal properties and hill properties, in an area of Abruzzo that offers all the best of the region with none of the difficulties associated  with other areas.  Bordering the region of the Marche, Ascoli Piceno is just 30 km from Teramo there are many choices to make here and there are still areas that remain largely undiscovered by many from outside the Province . Teramo offers a friendly welcome to all, indeed , when the province ofL’Aquila and its city where destroyed in the earthquake of 2009 the vast majority of the population that had no homes left were largely housed in this area of Abruzzo, many still living here as they are unable to or are reluctant to return . Preferring the warmer climate in this area above the freezing winters and stifling summers found the other side of the Apennines.
